February kicked off the Greater EMC Chamber's monthly luncheon series with nearly 200 vibrant and engaged attendees held at The Atrium Center in New Caney, Texas. The luncheon's presenting sponsor was The Highlands Texas by Caldwell Communities who spoke about their beautiful master-planned community in Porter, Texas, and its many amenities. One lucky winner at each of the 20 tables won a Mardi Gras-themed CenterPrize sponsored by Zulees Executive Gifts. You can't have a Chamber luncheon without great food and Featured Caterer BB's Tex-Orleans of Kingwood delivered with an abundance of appetizers, main courses with sides, and even included desserts. Constable Kenneth “Rowdy” Hayden, Pct. 4 Constable, Montgomery County, TX was the guest speaker who provided results of the Safe Shopper program made possible by the East Montgomery County Improvement District. He provided statistical information and also spoke about the role of the department in the community and how the business community could help them as well.

The College Football Playoff Foundation hosted the annual Extra Yard for Teachers Summit on Saturday, January 6th at the Wortham Theatre in downtown Houston. The high-energy and inspirational event attended by thousands inspires and empowers teachers each year in the city that hosts the College Football Playoff National Championship.

A Time To Celebrate is the theme for the Greater EMC Chamber's annual meeting luncheon. Presented by HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood, Chief Operating Officer Joel North shared the hospital's expansive growth with a glimpse into its future. The event attracted Santa Claus and even the Grinch couldn't stay away. Songs of the season were sung by the Porter High School Spartan Carolers to entertain the well-attended event. One lucky winner at each table received a beautiful centerpiece thanks to CenterPrize Sponsor HAAM Social Services which was donated by Flowers of Kingwood. Kelley Mattlage of the East Montgomery County Improvement District shared a Christmas Wish List that perfectly described the upcoming A Holiday To Remember event being held at Valley Ranch Town Center. The compliments continue for the events Featured Caterer Saltgrass Steak House of New Caney. Their menu included Watermelon Caprese Salad & Chicken and Shrimp Embrochette as passed appetizers. The main course included Chimichurri Chicken K-Bob - Grilled Chicken Breast Basted with Chimichurri Sauce with Bell peppers, Red Onions, and Poblano Peppers, and Chimichurri Steak K-Bob - Grilled Tenderloin with Chimichurri Sauce with Bell peppers, Red Onions and Poblano Peppers with Garlic Mashed Potato and Country Style Green Beans. The meal ended with Cheesecake Squares and Carrot Cake Squares for dessert. Board business was addressed including newly elected & appointed directors and thanking those whose terms are ending. Board Chair David Harris shared the accomplishments of the board for 2023 and had fun passing the gavel to incoming chair Dr. Melissa Gonzalez. #proud2beemc

The Greater EMC Chamber in New Caney, Texas honored military veterans at their November luncheon. Members and guests were welcomed with passed appetizers followed by a delicious meal from Featured Caterer Carrabba's Italian Grill of Kingwood. Cameron Hayes, Financial Advisor of Edward Jones was the Presenting Sponsor and The Highlands Texas by Caldwell Communities was the events CenterPrize Sponsor. A special musical tribute to veterans was performed by Andy Rodriguez which brought a tear to many and received a standing ovation. President of the Houston Regional Veterans Chamber Dave Weaver shared his personal story and why he saw the need for the organization.

The TX caught up with Commissioner Matt Gray of Montgomery County Precinct 4 at the Greater EMC Chamber ribbon-cutting to learn about the new East Montgomery County Annex located in New Caney with Montgomery County Clerk Brandon Steinmann, Justice of the Peace Jason Dunn, and a Montgomery County Tax Office of Tammy McRae. Commissioner Gray also shared a look ahead for the area with expanded space for law enforcement.
The book is titled FOCUSED - The PREPARED to WIN MINDSET and The TX was there for the exclusive book signing event at Nordstrom in The Houston Galleria. JJ Moses, a former NFL athlete and award-winning player development director, launched his new book with the support and excitement of family, friends, and fans, including the Mayor of Houston.

Monthly luncheons are signature events for the Greater EMC Chamber and October's held at The Atrium Center was another fun, friendly, and informative well-attended one despite the rainy weather. Members and guests were treated to passed appetizers from Featured Caterer Amedeo's Italian Restaurant as they arrived to meet, greet, and network. After a blessing from Margie Taylor of Taylorized PR, they were served an amazing meal including desserts from Tony Raffa and his talented culinary crew. The program began with pledges led by Splendora ISD Superintendent & Chamber Past Chair Dr. Jeff Burke followed by Chamber President & CEO Mark Linabury who welcomed all in attendance. Presenting Sponsor the Houston Chronicle shared eye-opening stats about their digital services and reach followed by a fun party-horn-blowing CenterPrize giveaway from Heather Herlong Events, LLC. New member introductions are an important part of monthly luncheons and Board Chair David Harris welcomed each one with a special Texas-shaped plaque. The guest speaker was Lone Star College's new Chancellor, Mario K. EXPO - Celebrating Business is an annual event produced by the Greater EMC Chamber and EXPO 2023 was the most successful one to date.
This fun, friendly, and informative event helps the Chamber advocate for the local business economy by providing a platform for companies to highlight and promote their business.
What makes it fun & friendly? Booth Visit Bingo! A record number of bingo cards were distributed this year, and attendees played by visiting every booth before they could turn them in to be eligible for the more than $2500 in chamber membership prize drawings.
Informative breakout sessions were also part of EXPO 2023. Several topics were covered providing valuable information that attendees could apply to themselves and to their businesses. Everyone who attended one session also received a voucher for a free chamber monthly luncheon!
A successful EXPO includes educating and motivating others and this year’s keynote speaker was former Houston Texan and author JJ Moses. JJ shared his inspirational story of how he made it to the NFL, and at only 5’6”, the odds were not in his favor. How did he do it? Focus. JJ shared how staying focused made it happen and provided tips on how to do it. It was the perfect message to help others and to promote his new book titled Focused.
